Orion Series Slurry Pumps

The Orion range of horizontal slurry pumps are rugged pumping equipment designed for abrasive slurries. The series consists of two series: the heavy-duty H-series and the mining-type M-series. In both series, the pumps are available in rubber-lined or hard-metal-lined versions.

Low total cost

This is the result of more than 60 years of experience in thousands of pumping applications.

Low power consumption

Optimal power utilization. Operate close to the optimum efficiency point. Improve hydraulic efficiency.

Long wear life

Wear parts are made of the highest quality hard metal, rubber and corrosion-resistant materials. Extra-thick sections at known wear points.

Operational reliability

Pumps and parts are manufactured in ISO-certified production units under Total Quality Management.

          Options

          Impeller options

          • Standard closed impeller
          • Induced flow (vortex) impeller
          • Fully concave induced flow (vortex) impeller

          Shaft sealing options

          The whole process

When product dilution is not critical, it is used for suction conditions that are not suitable for centrifugal sealing. Full flow provides the longest packing wear life.

          Low flow

When product dilution needs to be minimized, it is used for suction conditions that are not suitable for centrifugal sealing.

          Standard secondary impeller shaft seals

For product-free dilution against positive tips without leakage.

          Metso slurry mechanical seals

For stuffing boxes with zero leakage or product dilution. Single-slurry mechanical seals are available or dual mechanical seals requiring an external isolation fluid.

          Special configurations

The Orion range of slurry pumps is also available in a variety of special configurations:

          • HP – High Pressure:Same as HM with a higher pressure heavy-duty housing.
          • HG – Heavy Gravel:Same size suction and discharge flanges, fewer impeller blades, and larger material sizes can be passed.
          • HT – Heavy Tunnelling:Same as HM with a special 90° elbow cast into the casing.
          • HH – High Head:For a given flange size, the impeller diameter is larger.
