The trident chain of theme parks
Renold has extensive experience supplying the conveyor chain for theme park rides, from roller coasters to water rides, to theme parks around the world.
Through continuous R&D and research into the common causes of chain failure in corrosive environments, Renold has developed the Trident chain series to address the three main areas of failure in such environments: corrosion, seizure, and wear.
Due to frequent exposure to water, corrosion is often a problem on water chute chains. To solve this problem, Renold has developed a dual-process surface treatment to improve corrosion resistance. A special zinc-based coating provides excellent protection for steel. Even if the coating is penetrated, the treatment continues to provide superior corrosion resistance.
Eliminate jamming and play without lubrication
Conveyor chains and lift chains on facilities can suffer from bushings and pinning cards, significantly reducing the life of the chain. By developing a unique polymer sleeve, metal-to-metal contact is reduced, eliminating the risk of bushing and pin seizure. This also provides lubrication-free operation and eliminates the need for any lubrication ports.
Reduced wear and tear
The development of the thick-walled bushing design overcomes premature wear and failure of the bushing, and in most cases also allows for the adoption of shell rollers, which reduces the wear of the sprocket teeth; Extend the life of sprockets and chains and reduce maintenance time and costs.
Additional benefits:
- Integral Attachment Design – Eliminates attachment/plate corrosion issues
- Smoother and quieter than standard water slide chains
- Runs on the same sprockets and tracks as standard chains.
- Superior breaking load and working load
