Standard Conveyor Chain
Standard Conveyor Chain
Conveyor chains, like drive roller chains, can be manufactured to a number of different international standards. The main criteria available are:
British Standard (BS)
The standard covers chains manufactured to suit the UK market as well as the UK-dominated engineering and sourcing markets. This standard is based on the original Renold conveyor design.
ISO Standard Chain
Chains manufactured to ISO standards are not interchangeable with BS or DIN standard chains. The standard is widely accepted in European markets except Germany. Chains made according to this standard are becoming more and more popular and widely used in Scandinavia.
Renold has extensive experience in conveyor chain manufacturing.
Renold's conveyor chains have been designed and developed for many years to achieve the best possible product.

Renault ultimate reliability
- The key to the reliability of Renold chains is consistency in design and manufacturing.
- Maximum chain strength and wear resistance can be achieved by tightly controlling material specifications and using state-of-the-art heat treatment processes.
- Renold's consistent overall tolerances make it ideal for conveyor systems that require precise alignment on a multi-strand chain layout.
- The breaking load exceeds the minimum international standard.
- The right chain selection is essential for optimal performance. Renold's experienced design team is always available to provide free advice on specific products and applications.
Standard and deep link conveyor chains comply with BS4116 Part 4 as well as ISO 1977 standards and are available with hollow and solid bearing pins.
Super strong standard conveyor chain
To complement our standard range of British Standard Conveyor Chains, this extra strength chain is more suitable for conveyor applications selected based on ultimate tensile strength (breaking load). Each chain is the same size as its regular chain, for example, an extra strength 24,000 lb chain is essentially the same size as a regular 12,000 lb series chain. The chain is widely used to convey animal feed and bulk food such as grains, corn, wheat, and raw food mixtures.
Most of these applications use a scraper conveyor system, which typically has a long center distance between sprockets. Such systems are sometimes slow-moving, with little or no shock loads. Please contact our technical sales staff for selection and application details
